Eaton Vance selects CDO Software for Synthetic CDO Management
London, 05 February 2008
CDO Software confirmed today that Eaton Vance has selected CDO
Software’s CDO Director™ and CDO Scheduler™ management tools to help
manage the firm’s synthetic CDO business. The Boston based financial
services firm launched the system last December as it looks to build its
synthetic portfolio.
“CDO Software’s tools are a key component of the systems infrastructure
needed to successfully grow our synthetic CDO business” says Tom Luster,
Vice President and Co-Head, Investment Grade Fixed Income, Eaton Vance.
The CDO Tools™ suite of products provides firms with specific
functionality for managing synthetic deals, whilst also having auditing
and controls that give investors comfort and confidence when analysing a
CDO manager’s infrastructure. “Technology, efficiency and controls are
all becoming more and more important in today’s market as investors
demand timely information on their investments and responsiveness from
managers. Investors know that spreadsheets and manual processes carry
greater risk - we provide the infrastructure to minimise this risk and
help our clients become more efficient when selecting credits for better
portfolio management,” says Sunay Shah, CEO of CDO Software.
CDO Software’s management
tools are designed for both investors and managers. Investors can
monitor their investments as markets are moving to see the real impact
on their deals and not depend on monthly reporting that is often delayed
and only received two to three weeks following the month-end. Managers
benefit from current market data and efficient tools to help run models
quickly to see how potential substitutions could help improve credit
cushion and rating agency metrics. Deal-level notching logic and
professional reporting capabilities at the touch of a button help
managers focus on managing deals effectively and eliminate time wasted
operationally with manual processes.
CDO Software is very pleased to have a large and reputable financial
services firm such as Eaton Vance as a client. Sunay Shah explains “We
have formed a very good relationship with the team at Eaton Vance. We
look forward to working closely with them and delivering the tools that
Eaton Vance needs to grow and effectively manage their synthetic CDO
business.”
